PRETENDING EVERYTHING'S FINE
We call it what it is. The first step to changing it.
Stop
We call it what it is. The first step to changing it.
You don't need anyone's approval to choose yourself.
You matter too. It's not selfish. It's how you come back to life.
Keeping everyone else comfortable has cost you enough.
These aren't personality flaws. They're survival responses, things you learned to do to stay safe, once. This is where you start healing what created them, not just coping with them.
It's Time To
Because the world didn't get smaller. You did. It's time to take up the space you were always meant to occupy.
The guilt. The people-pleasing. The endless shrinking to keep everyone else comfortable. It's not who you are: it's a pattern your nervous system learned a long time ago. We name it. We heal it at the root, not just the surface.
Not what everyone else needs from you. What you actually want. It's allowed. You're allowed.
Not a smaller version. Not the one you were handed. Yours. From here, what now?
A 12-week 1:1 journey
This is not a course you buy and forget about. This is twelve weeks of working directly with me, coaching and subconscious belief work, built around where you are right now and where you're going, breaking the Good Girl conditioning and people-pleasing patterns that have kept you small.
Most women arrive as one of three women. All of them leave as the same one.
She's lost the thread back to herself. She holds everything together for everyone else and goes blank when someone asks what she wants. This isn't a flaw in her. It's what happens when a nervous system spends decades in survival mode. We start here. We find her.
She can see the patterns but she's caught between who she was and who she's becoming. We name what's happening, dismantle what's keeping her stuck, and start building the version of her that doesn't apologise for existing.
She knows who she is. She just needs someone to go all the way with her. We close the gap between knowing and living it, for good.
12 questions. A personalised result. And an email that will make you feel like someone finally wrote something just for you. Because they did. Take The Self-Assessment. I'll meet you there.
Take the Invisible to Unstoppable QuizHow I work
No fluff. No toxic positivity. No pretending that a gratitude journal is going to fix thirty years of Good Girl conditioning.
I won't dress things up to make them easier to hear. You've spent long enough being told everything's fine.
I'll say what you already know but haven't admitted yet. That's usually where the work starts.
You don't get to stay stuck and call it "just how things are". We go to the root of it, not the coping strategy, the root. That's where healing actually happens.
We deal with what's actually going on, at the level it actually lives, in the body, not just the story. So something finally shifts.
Life Begins at Midlife
Honest conversations about what midlife actually feels like, the identity questions, the body stuff, the relationships, the moment you realise you've been performing your whole life and you're done.
"Not when life's perfect. When you finally stop pretending it is."
About Jacqui
I've rebuilt my life more than once. I know what it feels like to wake up one day and realise the woman looking back at you is someone you've been performing, not someone you've actually been living as. I know the particular exhaustion of being endlessly capable for everyone else and completely lost when it comes to yourself. That exhaustion isn't weakness: it's what a nervous system does when it's been in survival mode for thirty years.
I spent decades being the reliable one. The one who kept everything together, made it work, didn't make a fuss. South African by birth, British by choice, and Good Girl by conditioning, until I finally got fed up enough to ask a different question. Not "what does everyone else need from me?" but "what do I actually want?" That question changed everything.
I'm Jacqui Bourne, coach, podcast host, speaker and author. I work with women in midlife who are done pretending everything is fine. Through my 12-week 1:1 programme, my podcast, and the WTF Community, I help women name what's been keeping them small, heal the Good Girl conditioning at the root of it, and build something that actually feels like theirs.
I'm not interested in toxic positivity or a gratitude journal that tells you everything's fine when it isn't. I work with what's actually going on, at the level the pattern lives, not just the surface mindset. That's why something finally shifts.
This isn't about having it all figured out. It's about being willing to stop settling for a life that fits everyone else perfectly and fits you not at all. If that's where you are, you're in exactly the right place.
Work With MeIt's not selfish. It's you finally choosing you. About bloody time.
